Four Loves Photo & Film
/Six years of youth ministry taught Joanna Ojeda something essential about the human heart: each of us loves being listened to and being clearly, deeply seen. “Listening to couples about what excites them, what things they love (whether it's Star Wars, burritos, backpacking in the mountains, or St. John Paul II) helps me get to know them better and provide a unique heirloom film they can show to their grandchildren one day.”
It was ministry that initially sparked Joanna’s career in videography and photography: for years, she'd shoot footage from her and her friends’ youth retreats and events, until eventually, she was asked to photograph a friend’s wedding. “I was honored and intimidated,” says Joanna. “After photographing their wedding, I realized that video was another way I could capture a wedding day for couples that added so much more life to the day--the sounds, the movement, the vows. After some time, encouragement from others, and a lot of prayer I decided to start wedding filmmaking!”
Four Loves Photo & Film, inspired by C.S. Lewis’s book of the same name, launched in 2021.
Inspired by the personal details that make each couple unique, Joanna loves the joy of intertwining these details with the big-picture plans of each wedding she films, knowing she’s documenting the start of a lifetime.
From Joanna:
Catholic weddings are unique and sacred in so many ways. I want to be able to share what I do, in documenting the first day of a marriage, with [my] couples so they can look back on their wedding film as an heirloom. Weddings are for one day, marriages are for life. Wedding photos and video are ways of freezing those moments in time for the couple to remember sharing the sacrament.”
